Natalie Oyenarte

      Natalie is here at Vandy from Florida where she road in the jumpers. She earned circut champion titles in the 2'3, 2'6, and 2'9, as well as reserve chapion in the 3' jumpers.

Malia Nirschl

  • Class Of: 2022

  • Major: Medicine, Health, and Society

  • Minors: Biology and Child Development

  • Interests: Nursing, fetal and neonatal development, playing with her dog (Ted), John Mulaney, and obscure music

     Mal has been riding since childhood, trying out a little bit of everything. She rode western for most of her life, including reining, roping, cow work, and barrel racing. She began riding english when she was 10, and showed Arabians in the hunter ring at breed shows for a couple years before taking time off in high school to focus on getting into Vanderbilt.

Lili Kaissar

Class Of: 2023

Major: Medicine, Health, and Society

Minor: Business

Interests: the Women's Network, JustWorld International, Best Buddies

     Lili has been ridding for 16 years and currently shows on the AA circuit. Her hard work has earned her top placings at WEF, Lake Placid, Old Salem, Devon, GLEF, and other top venues. She is also nationally ranked in the Equitation and the low, medium, and high junior jumpers.

Charlotte Novy

  • Class Of: 2023

  • Majors: Human and Organizational Development, Philosophy

  • Interests: developing equipment for high performance horses

     Charlotte has ridden for 13 years and currently shows in the 1.40-1.45m jumpers. Charlotte has wins and reserve chamion titles at the Capital Challenge horse show and Pennsylvania National horse show, was the circut champion at WEF in the jumpers, has multiple placings on the Longines Global Champions Tour, and was 5th in the North American Equitation Flat Championship.

Elise Darby

  • Class of: 2024

  • Major: Human and Organizational Development

  • Interests: animals, traveling

      Elise was named the Oklahoma State Champion in 2014, 2015, and 2016 in the Hunters. Her favorite horse at our barn is Meadowart AKA Lou.

Lindsey Scott

CAPTAIN

Brittany started    riding at the age of 8. She showed locally and nationally throughout her childhood. At the age of 16, she started teaching camps at her mother's training facility and after graduating with an Equine Science Degree from MTSU, she began her professional career and has taught children and adults at every level. 

     She was the youngest trainer to ever win the IEA National Championships with her team and has had students winning top prizes at shows such as the USEF Pony Finals and The All American Quarter Horse Congress. She's devoted to teaching riders in their ability to understand the horse as well as ride effectively.

Melanie has been riding since she was young, and especially loves ponies, like the one in this photo, named Funfetti! She rode hunter in her junior career but is really excited to start learning western.

     Arman started riding his freshman year at Vanderbilt as a walk-trotter. He has since fallen in love with the sport and is now a dedicated member and leader of our team.

Interests: puppies and the beach!

     Carly showed on the A circuit for years before coming to Vandy. She holds a St. Christopher's Junior Hunter Grand Champion title (2018), top 5 placings at the USHJA Junior/Amateur Hunter derby and Washington International Horse Show, and a top placing at the Pennsylvania national horse show. Since joining the team, she was the IHSA Zone 5 Team Intermediate O/F champion in 2019 and the Zone 5, Region 1 Intermediate O/F regional champion in 2020.
